Antique Cranberry Glass Melon Bell Jar Lantern
A rare cranberry-colored melon- or pumpkin-shaped bell jar lantern from Belgium, circa 1890. The color is in the cranberry family, but is closer in hue to that of a Burmese ruby. The hand blown glass is of very good quality, and features the imprint of the manufacturer, Val St. Lambert, on it along with the words "Best Crystal Glass" (see image #8). Originally for candlelight, the pendant has been newly electrified with a three-bulb candelabra cluster and is delivered ready to install using the toned brass ceiling canopy and ample chain that we provide (as shown). Note that there is a bit of fog in the lower portion of the lantern, which is not uncommon in hand blown glass this old.
Dimensions: 9" diameter x 16.50" height (overall length of fixture)
