Antique Bell Jar Lantern with Diamond Cut Glass Etching
A lovely antique bell jar lantern manufactured by S&C Bishop, England, circa 1890. The Bishop indicia appears on both the handblown glass jar and pontil, which is rare. The Waterford-style diamond etching is a nice complement to the bell jar's form. The glass smoke bell is original to the lantern; however, the embossed brass band has been replaced to ensure the security of the pendant when hanging. The light has been newly electrified with a three-bulb candelabra cluster. It arrives ready to install from a toned brass ceiling canopy and chain provided.
