19th Century English Bell Jar Lantern with Trellis Etching
A fine quality handblown glass bell jar lantern from England, circa 1875, with an etched trellis pattern that suits this shapely hall lantern. The bell jar's embellished brass finial and embossed brass band have a rich gold tone. The band and chain were replaced at some point for security. The light is newly electrified with a three-bulb candelabra cluster accommodating up to 60 watts per bulb. It arrives ready to install from the toned brass ceiling canopy and chain provided.
Notes: There is a small overlap where the brass band joins (see image #5); a tiny piece of brass is missing from original finial (see image #7); some faint, but insignificant, cloudiness in the smoke bell (see image #8). None of these imperfections will be a distraction from the beauty of this lantern.
Dimensions: 9.25" diameter x 18.50" height (overall length of fixture)
