19th Century English Bell Jar Lantern with Diamond Etching
Handblown glass bell jar lantern from England, circa 1860, with a lovely funneling form and an etched diamond motif. The embossed brass band and unadorned finial are original to the hall lantern. The smoke bell, or lid, is period. The pendant light has been newly electrified with a three-bulb candelabra cluster accommodating up to 60 watts per bulb. It comes ready to install from the toned brass ceiling canopy and chain provided. Note that there are a few very small foggy spots on the smoke bell (see image #6), which are by no means a distraction from the beauty of this lantern.
Dimensions: 9" diameter x 19" height (overall length of fixture)
