19th Century Emerald Green Pumpkin or Melon Bell Jar Lantern
An emerald gem in our bell jar collection, this circa 1890 pumpkin or melon lantern is in excellent condtion for its age, with desirable air bubbles and swirls in the hand blown glass. The bell jar has its original brass finial and chains. Its rolled brass band has been replaced security. The smoke bell, which is also period, is not original to the lantern and has an ever-so-slightly bluer hue. An acid etched inidicia with the name of the manufacturer, Val St. Lambert, on the bell jar also reads "Best Crystal Glass" and "Made in Belgium." Originally for candles, the lantern has been newly electrified and casts a beautiful light from a three-bulb candelabra cluster. It arrives ready to install from the toned brass ceiling canopy and chain provided.
