Painted Sandstone Architectural Fragment

A painted sandstone fragment from a Hindu temple in south India, circa 1920. More recently re-painted, the stone is hand carved with a lotus flower and leaf design in a pleasing palette of pastels mixed with darker greens and blues. The piece was likely near the top of the temple that it adorned.
Dimensions: 23" height x 29.75" width x 12.50" depth
